Saturday 10 October 2009 I promise to put up all the good stuff that I've been meaning to put up but kept putting off. I was going to do it tonight but I got too distracted. This is my self-assuring compromise, lol.

I feel like doing something with oil pastels. I have a whole box of them that I've had for years but I've never used them. I used to hate them, but I really liked them after we used them in art this year. But I still realyl suck at them, lol. I just feel like making something really rough and messy right now, you know?

i know the feeling well. i say go for it. it's been SOoo long since i've used oil pastels myself, but i think if anyone can pull it off, you can. =D it just might take a couple experimental tries before you get used to using them the way you like.
    :iconjajers:
What type of paper do you use for oil pastels? I don't even know.

that's one of the plus sides of using oil pastels: you can use them virtually anywhere, though most commonly thick paper is used. I've seen oil pastels used to paint on wood, metal, and particle board (also household walls... ^_^;;). but i think for your purposes a thickish paper like what you use for charcoal sketching should suit your needs very nicely.
    :iconjajers:
except i only really have printer paper  and I don't want to do it on something that small lol. I'll get some thick papes.
